The British government is planning another package of sanctions against Belarus from Tuesday (July 5) because the country supports Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine.
This was announced by the British Foreign Office on Monday evening.
The sanctions cover goods worth a total of £60m (about €69m).
A ban on the export of oil refinery products, high-tech components and luxury goods to Belarus is planned, it said.
In addition, imports of iron and steel from Belarus are prohibited and access to the British financial services sector is restricted.
Belarusian ruler Lukashenko threatened the West with an attack on its capitals on Saturday (July 2).
Ukraine-News: NATO ambassadors sign accession protocols for Finland and Sweden on Tuesday

Finland and Sweden’s membership in NATO is one step closer: ambassadors from the 30 NATO member states in Brussels signed the accession protocols for Finland and Sweden on Tuesday morning.
The two countries can thus take part in all NATO meetings, but not vote.
The governments of the 30 NATO countries still have to approve the accession.
In Germany, the Bundestag could agree to Finland and Sweden joining as early as this week.

According to the online tracking system Marinetraffic, the freighter came from the Russian coastal city of Novorossiysk.

"No, no congratulatory telegram will be sent this year," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday, according to the Interfax agency.

"That's because this year has become the culmination of unfriendly policies toward our country by the United States," he said, referring to the July 4 holiday in America.
"Therefore, under these circumstances, it can hardly be considered appropriate to send such a congratulatory message."
