After Effe was happily adopted from the animal shelter, his owners separated after three years.

Now the dog grandpa almost died of a tumor.

Update from July 5, 2:50 p.m .:

Since the beginning of February, dog grandpa Effe has been waiting for a new family at the Nuremberg animal shelter.

Now the four-legged friend also had to survive an operation.

"A spleen tumor almost took his life," write the animal rights activists on Facebook.

He was saved by his attentive nurses, the tumor turned out not to be malignant.

"Nevertheless, Effe is getting sadder and sadder here because he simply doesn't have a family of his own." Who will give the Kangal grandpa a home for the rest of his life?

The four-legged friend is a very lovable dog (see first message).

First report from May 3rd:

Nuremberg – The seven-year-old Kangal shepherd dog Effe was lucky enough to be given a new home from the animal shelter.

After he lived happily there for three years, his owners separated and he had to go back to the Nuremberg animal shelter.

But he still doesn't give up hope of finding a new family that takes him so much into their hearts that they never want to give him up again.

Tierheim Nürnberg posts video of Kangal male Effe - "He deserved it so much"

With the help of a video, the animal shelter in Nuremberg is trying to find a new home for the seven-year-old Kangal males.

"He would have deserved it," write the animal rights activists.

Dog Effe from the Nuremberg animal shelter: What makes the male dog so lovable

Effe loves people, loves to cuddle and enjoys the contact and attention of two-legged friends.

His foot was crippled in an accident, but that doesn't limit his day-to-day activities.

Depending on his sympathy, he gets along well with other dogs, he only likes cats "to eat", which is why only a cat-free household is suitable for him.

Dog Effe loves horses and he gets along well with older children from the age of eight.

He would like to have the perfect mix of indoors and outdoors.

Therefore, a house or an apartment with a garden would be ideal.

Animal shelter Nuremberg: Interest in Kangal Effe is there

The chances are not bad that Kangal Effe from the Nuremberg animal shelter will soon find a new home.

For example, a user asked: “Can we come and see this cute guy?

Or is it best to make an appointment?” The animal shelter recommends calling in advance.

Another commented on Facebook: "I love this guy so much!

He's super friendly when we pass the fence, even if Amy always snaps at him a bit first, he stays nice and makes himself pretty.

It would be perfect for a riding stable to have an overview".

However, the animal shelter points out that Effe cannot live exclusively outside in his old age, which is why a riding stable - despite a deep love of horses - is out of the question for the shepherd dog.

Another Facebook user wanted to know from the Nuremberg animal shelter how the dog behaves towards smaller children.

“He hasn't really had contact with small children yet, but he's basically a very nice dog.

However, children should perhaps be big enough to know when a dog needs its rest."

If you want to give Effe a new home, you can fill out and send the application form to the animal shelter or contact the animal shelter directly.
