With the participation of 300 orphans, the Al-Mabarrah Women's Association for Social Development and Orphans Sponsorship in Damascus organized today an entertaining event that included lyrical and cultural performances and a puppet theater at its headquarters in Mazzeh.
During the event, gifts and clothes were distributed to children and a number of female breadwinners who benefited from the association's programs.
In a statement to SANA reporter, the association’s vice president, Mona Muhanna, explained that the event aims to enhance the orphan children’s feeling of support and assistance and to share the joy of the blessed Eid al-Adha, noting that the association implements a set of development programs for children in terms of caring for and developing their talents, while Dr. Nada Al-Hakim pointed out that the care of orphaned children Residents of the association or those who are sponsored by it also include a health aspect, as they are subjected to periodic examinations by specialized doctors.
Member of the association's board of directors, Iman Al-Nono, explained that the association provides free training courses for female breadwinners and financial grants in cooperation with Al Baraka Bank to establish a project for them, as the number of project grant recipients has reached 13 since the beginning of this year.
It is noteworthy that the Al-Mabarrah Women's Association for Social Development and Orphans Sponsorship was established in 1945 and works to support orphaned children and those who lack family care psychologically, educationally and educationally, and to secure alternative housing for them.
