Authorities said that in response to the new crown epidemic, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Drainage Services Department are collecting sewage samples in various districts for coronavirus testing, and positive results have been detected in the sewage in some areas, indicating that there may be hidden patients on premises in the area.

The Housing Department and the District Offices in the districts will successively distribute a total of about 315,000 rapid antigen test kits to residents of the eight housing estates, local cleaning staff and property management staff for their own testing to help identify infected persons.

The authorities reminded that when using the rapid antigen test kits, one should pay attention to and follow the manufacturer's instructions, conduct the test and read the results correctly, and take pictures immediately after reading the results for record.

Hands must be clean before and after the test, and non-essential supplies should be kept to a minimum in the sample collection area.

After testing, all components of the test kit need to be carefully wrapped, sealed and disposed of properly.

If the household environment is contaminated during sample collection, it should be disinfected with 1:49 diluted household bleach or 70% alcohol.

Persons who have obtained a positive result for the first time with the rapid antigen test can declare through the online platform of the "2019 Coronavirus Rapid Antigen Test Positive Results Person Declaration System".

If members of the public have difficulty using the online platform, they can call the automated system at 183 6119 to register their identity documents and telephone numbers.

The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health will contact the person concerned to complete the declaration process.
