A management position is also vacant in the British Ministry of Education: Robin Walker, Minister of State for School Standards, resigns in the wake of the recent scandal surrounding Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
"Recent events have made it clear (...) that our major party is being distracted from its core mission by an ongoing focus on leadership," Walker wrote in a statement he posted on Twitter.
Walker said he was looking forward to becoming a Conservative MP in politics as a backbench for his Worcester constituency.
