There seems to be a solution so that the popular summer cellar festival in Benediktbeuern can still take place.

The municipality of Benediktbeuern will bear the costs for examinations and safety measures on the trees.

- The popular summer cellar festival of the Benediktbeuern fire brigade can now probably take place at the traditional location.

This was announced by the Benediktbeuern administrative community in a press release on Tuesday.

As reported, everything indicated that the festival scheduled for Saturday, August 6th, had to be cancelled.

Because the municipality had not been able to agree with the district office on who would bear the costs for the tree trimming at the natural monument.

As managing director Michael Herrmann from VG Benediktbeuern further reports, with the help of the Kochler tree care entrepreneur Anton Suttner, who contacted the district office on Monday, the examinations on the trees to ensure the obligation to ensure traffic safety were carried out by him as an expert.

"We would like to expressly thank Mr. Suttner for the initiative," emphasizes Herrmann in the message.

No major difficulties expected

During an on-site visit on Tuesday with Suttner, representatives of the fire brigade and the manager of the VG, the further procedure was said to have been discussed.

Any dead wood will now be removed, and if "the assessment by the specialist does not reveal any further defects that cannot be remedied, the festival can take place as planned on August 6th." However, major difficulties are not to be expected.

"Further-reaching measures that would lead to the costs previously rumored are not relevant to the holding of the event or can be remedied by blocking measures," says Herrmann.

At the annual meeting of the Benediktbeur fire brigade on Friday, Deputy Mayor Hanns-Frank Seller said that the costs for tree pruning were exorbitantly high and in the five-digit range (we reported).

According to the press release, the costs for the measure now planned amount to around 1200 to 1500 euros - depending on the effort - and will be borne by the municipality of Benediktbeuern.
