A woman is looking for a designer handbag through a classifieds portal.

In the end, she saves the lives of three calves and saves them from slaughter.

Rosenheim – It's a touching story, almost like something out of a movie: Olivia von Heybowitz wants to buy a Prada calfskin bag online.

But in the end, the flight attendant doesn't own a handbag, but three cute little calves, which she saved from certain death.

But how did it happen?

The 28-year-old woman reported to the online portal “Your wildlife”: “I entered “Prada calf” in the search field.

Between 1,000 photos of bags there was a small photo of Helmut.” The calf was to be slaughtered because it was of the Brown Swiss breed and there was no use for it on his farm – unsuitable for both meat and milk production.

For the animal-loving woman from Rosenheim, it was immediately clear "that I had to get Helmut out of there".

Heybowitz immediately writes a message to the farmer and visits the farm the following day.

But there she not only meets Helmut: the two calves, IDefix and Fridolin, are also about to go to the slaughterhouse.

So she decides to ransom all three cattle without further ado.

"Seen and fell in love, so to speak," she continues.

"It was just a gut feeling that I listened to immediately."

Calves saved from slaughter - they find a new home at Chiemsee

Heybowitz bought the doomed trio free for 900 euros.

Before that, she contacted all the sanctuaries and animal shelters in the area to find a place for the three calves.

She's lucky - a farm on Lake Chiemsee agrees to take in the animals.

"They have taken in my cattle as pension animals and support me in everything, with any agricultural knowledge that I lack." Mini bull Napoleon is also saved from slaughter by animal rights activists and finds a new home on a sanctuary.

Because the flight attendant cannot pay the monthly pension of 150 euros per animal from her salary alone, she seeks help via social media.

"As a full-time flight attendant, I can't afford that.

That's why I started looking for sponsors at the time to help finance their livelihood," the 28-year-old told "Your World of Animals".

This is how the Instagram account "helmutdaskalb" was finally created, which now has almost 13,000 followers and inspires many people.

In Australia, a bull is celebrated as a hero because he falls down a waterfall and miraculously survives.

Calves saved from slaughter - "A cow is so incredibly sensitive"

With her social media appearance, Heybowitz not only wants to promote support, but also show people how strong and lovable cattle can be.

In the meantime, two more calves have been added.

She no longer buys leather handbags and she also does without meat: "No steak in the world can taste so good that it is worth eating a living being."

She also reports that her cattle would feel it if she was feeling bad: "A cow is so incredibly sensitive".

What surprised her the most, however, was that cows can also be very cuddly and sometimes actively demand to be stroked.

Whenever Olivia von Heybowitz is free, she is with her animals.

Her big dream: one day to have her own farm with her protégés.
