Sixty paintings of twenty boys and girls painted Hanaya and the corridors of the National Museum and its garden, which stored over the course of three days the stories of childhood, its creativity and laughter, to embody the true meaning of the forum, which was launched by the branch of the Union of Fine Artists in cooperation with Latakia Governorate and the Directorate of Culture under the title “The joy of the homeland through the eyes of children.”
A green homeland, colorful cities and children playing under a sky decorated with the Syrian flag, for which the children have assigned a place in most of their works, as the sun sets in the sea of their city, and many colorful stories that their white papers cannot accommodate, which formed at the conclusion of their meeting today, an art exhibition brimming with colors and creativity.
Head of the Union branch in Latakia, Farid Raslan Bain, said in a statement to SANA that the forum launched by the General Union of Fine Artists in many provinces is the first of its kind for children under 12 years old and comes under the supervision of a group of plastic artists who helped stimulate the imagination of children through many activities Interactive, which gives them knowledge of techniques for dealing with paper and colors without interfering with what they draw, in addition to organizing an introductory tour of the museum, which was chosen by the forum management due to the beauty and charm of its nature and its historical and archaeological richness.
Raslan pointed out that the forum was keen to set up an exhibition of children's drawings and allocate them with certificates of appreciation for their work to create a positive relationship between the child and art, noting the cooperation with Lattakia Governorate and the Directorate of Culture, which provided facilities and supplies for the forum.
The plastic artist Bassam Nasser, one of the artists supervising the forum, saw that art is supposed to constitute a daily need for the child, especially with the difficult conditions that our children lived through during the harsh years of war, which calls for a permanent presence of activities and forums that help the child unload his negative energies and contribute to the development and development of his personality.
Nasser considered that the success of the event is linked to its ability to create joy and passion for the child by creating means that attract the child to artistic work and are able to move his imagination and revitalize it, pointing to the keenness of the supervisors to create stimulating breaks that develop imagination and help children express their ideas and embody them on paper.
The children participating in the forum were keen to inform the visitors of the exhibition about their works and provide their explanations about them. The little girl, Limar Bajano, who painted a colorful city in the form of a tree, called it the Tree of Life, through which she expressed her city and her homeland, which will remain colorful and vibrant. As for Diana Haidar, her drawings included the national flag and the Syrian soldier who make her feel safe. Like Naya Shaabani, who also painted children playing and carrying the flag of their country, expressing their joy.
Hamza Al-Masry painted a beautiful green nature and sunset in the sea, expressing the beauty of his city and his homeland, Syria, while Rand Nasser drew children playing and drawings with a lot of colors and joy to express her joy with her new friends whom she met in the forum.
