China today criticized the abuse of power by the United States and its practice of "technological terrorism" by forcing a Dutch supplier to stop selling optical imaging system chip equipment to Beijing.
"This is another example of Washington abusing its power and relying on technological hegemony to engage in coercive diplomacy," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian told a news conference, Xinhua quoted Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian as saying at a press conference.
Zhao stressed that in the current context of globalization, the US administration has used its influence on technology in economic and trade issues and has imposed a blockade on other countries, which will make these countries realize that relying only on the United States for technology will do no good.
And media reports said that the United States is pushing the Netherlands to prevent the Dutch company "ASML" holding from selling the most advanced optical imaging systems to China.
