The Cultural Center in Safita hosted a signing ceremony for the novel “Yasmine the Swamp” by writer Nancy Al-Sabbagh, which is based on real events that may take place in every place and time, using simple and clear structures.

The 219-page novel talks about a social researcher who challenged her family to go to an orphanage to live with his children and depicted through it an arduous journey of situations and suffering until reaching the desired goal.

Al-Sabbagh stated in a statement to SANA reporter that she tried, through the novel issued by the Al-Ghanim House for Culture and Publishing, to convey a message that the good within us must raise its voice in order to awaken sleeping consciences.

She emphasized the role of women in society by believing in themselves and their abilities and taking care of nurturing her mind and spirit in order to contribute to building the future from her small family and not to give up on her dreams, no matter how hard and difficult they might face.

It is reported that Al-Sabbagh, 36, is an English language teacher and has written several plays for the church in Tartous.
