At least until the general assembly in autumn, the Kreisjugendring (KJR) Erding will remain without a chairman.

It came this way.

Wartenberg/Erding - At the spring meeting on Monday in Wartenberg, there was nobody who wanted to succeed Andrea Jarmurskewitz.

She herself was not allowed to run again after twelve years as chairwoman.

Nevertheless, she remains responsible.

Because the Erdingerin, as a representative of the Protestant youth, was elected as a deputy - and is at the top until further notice.

30 representatives of various youth organizations took part in the meeting.

The entire executive board emerged from the meeting in the Strogenhalle as just a rump troop.

Five other members should have been elected, but only two stood by: Markus Ertl from the BDKJ and Sabine Wendt from the Evangelical Youth.

Three more places remain free for the time being.

Christopher Claar and Herbert Kollmannsberger were elected as auditors, as individuals Maria Grasser, Ulla Dieckmann, Christopher Sticha - all district councilors - and the former second KJR chairwoman Birgit Schwaiger.

Matthias Fack, President of the Bavarian Youth Association (BJR), emphasized that the board was absolutely able to work.

As long as it is not complete, "the agenda item will be called up at each plenary session".

The meeting was dominated by the smoldering dispute between the KJR and the district of Erding about the financial resources.

There was great hope on all sides that the new basic treaty would finally come about.

It was noted on both sides that they would like to get back into calmer waters - not least so that they could concentrate on youth work again.

Third District Administrator Rainer Mehringer (FW) made it clear that KJR and youth work were "absolutely necessary".

"The district will continue to support youth work, it will even spend more money on it," promised Mehringer.

According to his information, the hard-fought basic contract is on the right track.

He recommended "looking ahead today."

The host, Wartenberg's mayor Christian Pröbst (CSU), said the KJR was doing a good job at the school in his community.

Fack defended KJR managing director Reinhard Egger and chairwoman Jarmurskewitz against political attacks, especially from the AfD: "You did a blatantly good job in difficult times."

Regarding the contract with the district, Fack noted "that there are still three or four sticking points where it gets difficult again".

But there is a firm will to "complete this in July".

He wasn't more specific.

After research by our newspaper, the KJR sent the district office the model contract of the BJR.

In a letter to the district parliamentary groups dated June 9, Fack complained that the district had again not submitted a draft.

Then they wanted to work with the BJR paper - until, according to the letter, a draft from the district administration suddenly came in - with a 70 percent reduction in the position of managing director.

Egger presented the budget for the current year, which has a volume of almost 400,000 euros, around 8,000 more than in 2021. Business operations account for expenses of 174,000 euros, activities with 182,000 euros.

Almost 11,000 euros go to the youth work institutions, the grants to the youth organizations are estimated at 33,000 euros.

District youth leader Werner Lauer had made two applications on behalf of the Bavarian Sports Youth.

On the one hand, the board and managing director should actively seek donations.

As justification, Lauer said that the public sector no longer had so many funds.

Fack explained that the KJR was allowed to solicit donations and issue confirmations.

Egger emphasized that efforts are already being made to obtain sponsorship money.

The motion was passed unanimously.

Lauer's second request was hairier: the KJR should no longer be so destructive and move away from its confrontational course towards the district.

After a long debate, the sports youth withdrew the application.

There was agreement that the tone was not always right.

Not a word was said about the dispute over the more than 90,000 euros that the KJR had not used for a specific purpose in more than ten years, which is why the district is insisting on a repayment.

At the request of our newspaper, Fack reported that a repayment notice had been received and that the objection had been lodged.

The district office is now demanding explanations for the use of funds in each individual year.

They are currently working on that, said the BJR President.
