For its 50th birthday, the Stopselclub Inkofen did not splash out: the anniversary was celebrated with a small folk festival.

Inkofen

– 50 years Stopselclub Inkofen: The traditional club celebrated this anniversary with a big festival in the middle of the village.

Food stalls and attractions lined up around the marquee.

Even a family of showmen had agreed to set up their shooting range.

A four-day festival was actually planned

Markus Westermeier and Jonas Maier from the festival committee were delighted that the upper local street was able to become an entertainment mile on Sunday, and that all the villagers pulled together: Everything was managed on their own, more than 60 citizens had contributed to the success of the milestone birthday .

One meeting followed another when the board of directors and the festival committee met in the past few months.

The anniversary was actually designed as a four-day celebration, said Maier and Westermeier.

Due to the planning uncertainty caused by the pandemic, the decision was ultimately made in favor of the alternative program, which read: "We are organizing a folk festival!" There has never been such a thing on the occasion of a club anniversary.

And the invited guests came: Many clubs and other visitors from the surrounding communities honored the organizers.

Mayor Anton Geier, who traditionally tapped the first keg of beer in the morning, was full of praise: "To get something like this off the ground - respect." After all, the safety of the guests had to be taken care of just as much as the controls within the framework of youth protection.

"We have everything covered," emphasized the organizers Westermeier and Maier.

Musically, Hans Mock let the guests pass the celebration mile.

He had set up his organ grinder at the entrance.

The members of the festival committee thanked the many helping hands.

First and foremost Jakob Soller, who was able to celebrate his own birthday at the same time as the club's anniversary: a rousing fanfare from the brass band couldn't be missing.

Thanks were also given to the local carpentry Maier, without whose expertise the festival could not have been celebrated like this, the festival committee made it clear.

Outstanding solidarity

Four founding members who founded the association 50 years ago received a special honor: Franz Hobmeier, Martin Meier, Martin Holzinger and Reinhardt Wetzl.

Westermeier emphasized that the association is involved in social cohesion in the village with many events throughout the year.

A "crime dinner" is organized every year, the Epiphany celebrations are filled with funny interludes, the maypole is erected and guarded by the Stoppelclub, club Watts tournaments or joint ski trips are also well received.

The words of praise and the well-attended festival were a great success for the club, which had once again set an example that the cohesion works excellently.
