21-year-old Crimo is suspected of opening deadly fire from the roof of a commercial store • If convicted, Crimo is expected to receive a life sentence with no possibility of early release

Seven killed and 30 injured:

Robert Crimo III, known as Bobby, suspected of shooting during the Independence Day parade in Highland Park in Chicago, is charged with seven counts of first-degree murder.

The 21-year-old Crimo allegedly opened deadly fire from the roof of a commercial store against the celebrants during the city's Independence Day parade last Monday.

The investigation shows that Crimo was known to the police as having a history of violence and was defined as "having a clear and immediate danger" following threats, allegedly, on his part about his family.

Illinois District Attorney Eric Rinehart estimated that if convicted, Crimo would face life in prison without the possibility of early release, and that "dozens more counts" are expected in the future.

Recall, police announced that the shooter apparently planned the attack for weeks, evidence of this is the fact that after the act which involved firing 70 bullets against the crowd, the perpetrator wore women’s clothing to disguise himself in the crowd.

The place from which the shooting apparently took place,

Local Police Deputy Chief Christopher Kovalli confirmed Tuesday that the main suspect had legally purchased the weapon in the Chicago area and that he had another rifle inside his mother's car, awaiting action.

He was arrested after an eight-hour chase.

Highland Park is known as a Jewish suburb but it is not clear to police whether the background to the deadly massacre was antisemitic because so far the evidence does not indicate this.

Of the seven killed, two Jews and 30 wounded are in hospitals.
