The Watan Document Foundation announced today the extension of the period for receiving the stories of the annual competition “This is my story for 2022”, which it organizes in cooperation with the National Union of Syrian Students, until the end of next August.

The “This is My Story 2022” competition seeks to reach the best realistic short story that the students witnessed themselves and carries meaningful human values. The competition aims to enhance culture and spread awareness among Syrian youth and integrate university students into the documentation process by telling their stories and memories and making them part of the intellectual and cultural reconstruction process And participate in shaping the features of tomorrow.

The competition, according to a statement, which SANA received a copy of, includes several conditions for participation in it, which are that the contestant submits one entry, provided that it is not published in another competition or event, that the contestant is a Syrian university student residing inside or outside the country, and that the story is in Standard Arabic, written or audio-recorded, or Photographed using video and between 1500 and 3000 words.

It is also a condition that the story be based on real events that show the places and dates of their occurrence, as witnessed by the owner of the story himself, while stories based on imagination or conclusion, or stories published or transmitted from people or other sources, as well as stories that contain abuse or violation of the law or morals will be excluded. the public.

The categories of stories include several axes: the war on Syria, students’ memoirs, narration of events and cultural heritage, in addition to stories of challenge and success, stories that reflect the concerns of young people, and notes about alienation. The Foundation will announce the winners after communicating with them. Prizes are awarded only to participants who disclose their personal data.

The number of prizes for the winning stories is 18 prizes according to the categories of story topics, with three gold, silver and bronze prizes for each category, at a value of 800,000 Syrian pounds for the first place, 600,000 pounds for the second place, and 400,000 pounds for the third place.
