Jandar Electricity Generating Company has developed its plan for the second half of this year, which includes conducting general maintenance operations for gas turbines to maintain its production capacity and keep it in good technical condition.
Engineer Muhammad Al-Omar, the company's general manager, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the maintenance work will include partial maintenance of the first and second turbines, general maintenance of the fourth gas turbine, and inspection of the burners in the fifth and sixth turbines.
He said that the technical workshops are currently carrying out urgent maintenance of the second steam turbine as a result of the emergence of some technical problems in it, and it is expected to be completed within a period of fifteen days, as announced and contracting has been made for the maintenance of the first steam turbine generator.
Regarding the implemented production of electric energy during the first half of this year, the company’s general manager stated that 1,911 thousand megawatt hours were produced, with an implementation rate of 69 percent of the production plan estimated at two million and 760 thousand megawatt hours, attributing the reason for the low implementation to the decrease in natural gas supplies to the company. He is the main operator of the six working gas turbines.
It is noteworthy that the General Company for Generating Jandar was implemented in two phases between 1994 and 1995 and includes six turbines, four of which are gas turbines and two steam turbines, and the second phase between 2011 and 2016 includes two gas turbines and one steam turbine.
