The Chairman of the Economic Committee of the German Parliament, “Bundestag”, Klaus Ernst considered that sanctions against Russia will fail, calling for their lifting and new talks with it on operating the “North Stream 2” gas pipeline to secure the delivery of gas supplies to the country.
"The German government must ensure that the prices of energy resources are controlled by increasing supplies, including from Russia, because the citizens and the country's economy are the victims of the completely failed sanctions policy," Ernst told the German newspaper "Die Welt" today.
He added: The policy of energy sanctions against Russia will not succeed and they will not be able to stop it, as the country continues to make good gains from its raw materials, and it is immoral to maintain sanctions in this way.
