Harvesting of successful wheat trials begins at the Jalin plant in Daraa

The head of the Agricultural Scientific Research Center in Daraa, Dr. Sultan Al-Yahya, explained that the center began harvesting wheat crop experiments at the Glen Research Station, which were conducted at the beginning of the current agricultural season, and the experiments are done automatically through the center's cadres and mechanisms.

Al-Yahya said in a statement to SANA reporter that the preliminary results that the center reached this season are promising and show the superiority of the cultivated varieties over others in terms of specifications and specific weight of the bean.

He added that the aim of wheat experiments and research is to devise new varieties suitable for the conditions of the region, superior in quality and productivity to the local varieties traded by the farmer, tolerant of drought, heat, cold, salinity, early in maturity, disease-resistant, with good appearance and technological specifications and suitable for irrigated and rain-fed crops, pointing out that the center seeks through its experiments Also to provide technical and technical services to technicians and farmers.

The Agricultural Scientific Research Center in Daraa has five research stations in Jaleen, Izraa, Yadoudeh, Samaqiyat and Muzayrib.
