The number of patients in the Freising Clinic is already high even without Covid.
At least the workforce is happy to have more staff.

Severe corona courses are increasing again at the Freising Clinic.
But there is also good news.
Freising
– For many days there were no more corona patients in the intensive care unit of the Freising Clinic.
Now, for the first time in a long time, the medical staff is dealing with more severe illnesses - even though there are currently so many patients in the hospital without Covid cases that individual wards are always fully occupied.
"Nationwide, the number of severe corona courses is increasing again noticeably," said clinic spokesman Sascha Alexander when asked by FT.
Beds are always scarce
That does not bode well, especially since more and more patients who are not being admitted to the clinic because of Corona are being tested positive for the virus.
"We have to see how things develop with us." Even without Covid cases, the number of patients in the past few weeks has been so high that beds have become scarce from time to time, Alexander says.
"Of course, we occasionally have to react at short notice when employees are absent," reports the clinic spokesman.
“In general, there are hourly cancellations from wards such as the emergency room in every hospital when all resources are currently tied up.
Then patients can be taken to other hospitals in good time.” Nevertheless, the staff shortage due to illness is not as great at the Freising Clinic as it used to be in winter.
Failure concept proves its worth
In addition, employees from the nursing and functional service have developed an in-hospital failure concept as part of a project work in order to counteract short-term failures.
"This is an immediate measure.
No wards are currently threatened with closure.” No comparison to Erding, where nursing staff sounded the alarm.
It's too much, it's enough was the tenor at a turbulent staff meeting there.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
The consequence: a historically high level of sick leave, which culminated in 142 lost employees in the spring.
Apparently, the nursing staff at the clinic located at the Erding District Office also suffer from a lack of appreciation from their employer.
Nursing staff in Freising also sent a letter to the SOS newspaper at the peak of the pandemic a year and a half ago.
More entries than exits
Since then, however, there have been positive developments at the hospital.
In addition to a high proportion of skilled workers compared to other hospitals, the hospital has gained 30 full-time employees this year alone, Alexander reports.
“This means we have more people joining than leaving.” One reason for this is the flexible, family-friendly working hours, for example for mothers and fathers after parental leave.
"That goes down very well with our employees."
