A chlorine accident in a hotel in Mallorca triggered a large-scale operation.
Dozens of people were affected, three children particularly badly.
Alcúdia - In the middle of the holiday season, a serious accident involving a respiratory poison occurred on a popular holiday island in Spain.
On Monday (July 4, 2022) there was a major operation in a holiday resort in Mallorca because dozens of holidaymakers complained of breathing problems.
At around 12.30 p.m., rescue workers rushed to the Sea Club hotel on Alcúdia beach, reports the Balearic newspaper

At least 26 people were affected in the holiday resort, and many minors also complained of breathing problems.

Most of those affected could be treated on an outpatient basis in the garden area of the hotel.
They were oxygenated after inhaling chlorine.
However, some had to be hospitalized.
Ten tourists were affected, and one child is said to be in serious condition.

even reported three seriously injured children.
The patients were distributed to houses on the island of Mallorca, which is once again one of the most popular summer holiday destinations.
It is not known whether Germans are among the injured in Alcúdia.

The management of the hotel "Sea Club" had itself expressed the suspicion that the chlorine level could have been higher for a short time due to a defective pump.
The pool was closed for two hours.
During this time, management says they conducted analysis until an appropriate level of chlorine was restored.
On the evening of the accident, normality had returned to the holiday resort in Alcúdia.
There have recently been two tragic swimming accidents in Mallorca.
First, a German vacationer crashed into a rock while swimming and died, later a man floating unconscious in the water could no longer be helped.
