The guest list includes both coalition partners and opposition politicians.
Sylt – For Christian Lindner (FDP), things are currently going well both professionally and privately.
Almost 9 months ago, the 43-year-old led the FDP as the top candidate in the 2021 federal election with 11.5 percent of the votes.
Thus, the Free Democrats moved into the German Bundestag again with slight gains after 2017 - as the fourth strongest force.
Unlike in the previous election, Lindner's party then assumed government responsibility.

In the summer of 2018, the politician and the political journalist met.
The engagement followed last year, so now the wedding.

First and foremost is Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) on the guest list, who was of course invited as Lindner's "boss".
There are also Lindner's internal party minister colleagues, Justice Minister Marco Buschmann and Education Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger.
FDP politician Wolfgang Kubicki, who Lindner has repeatedly referred to as a mentor in the past, shouldn't be missing either.
The failed CDU chancellor candidate Armin Laschet is also on the guest list.
Together with him, Lindner led a black and yellow state government in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The name Friedrich Merz (CDU) on the guest list is a little more surprising.
As the leader of the opposition, the CDU leader is always considered the harshest critic of the traffic light government.
However, Merz comes primarily at the invitation of Franca Lehfeldt.
