More than 300 detainees escaped Tuesday (July 5th) from a prison near Abuja, capital of Nigeria, after an alleged attack by fighters from the jihadist group Boko Haram, the government said on Wednesday.

We understand that it is Boko Haram, they came specifically for their co-conspirators
” in Kuje prison, interior ministry secretary Shuaibu Belgore told reporters.
“
So far, we have recovered around 300 (inmates) out of the approximately 600 who have come out of the prison cells
,” he added.
