However, after the victim deposited about 23,000 yuan into the relevant accounts several times, he lost contact with the swindlers.

After a preliminary investigation, the case was classified as "obtaining property by deception" and was handed over to the Kowloon City Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up. No arrests have been made so far.

The police pointed out that scammers’ job advertisements generally claim “quick money,” “high labor,” “same-day pay,” or “work from home”; they have low requirements for applicants’ age and education, or no work experience or resume; And the actual position or work content, and only provide instant messaging software or mobile phone number contact method.

Some scammers will even give out commissions after the victim's initial deposit to gain the victim's trust.
