Dozens of patients and families of cancer patients demonstrated today (Wednesday) against the closure of the oncology ward at Wolfson Hospital in Holon.

The Ministry of Health is considering closing the ward following a dispute that arose between the ward director, nurses and the hospital director, which causes the ward to be shut down and cancer patients not receiving treatment.

Among the protesters is Nitzan Sitbon, the daughter of an oncology patient at Wolfson.

Sitbon said that "we are in real anxiety about the continuation of the department's activities. We do not understand how this conflict will end."

The management of the institute and the medical staff have a series of disagreements - the nurses claim inappropriate treatment and on the other hand Dr. Brenner, director of the Oncology Institute, claimed that the hospital director Anat Engel is working against him and inciting the nurses. Appropriate treatment due to the conflict.

According to Sitbon, "The nurses who complained know that we feel abandoned and hurt, but we thank them for all the help, on the other hand they abandoned us. It cannot be that nurses, who are vital, will not reach out to the worker."

"I know what the complaints are, but I've never seen abuse. I also asked other patients - could it be that we missed something? No one saw anything. It becomes a second home when so many come to the ward."

Last month the Ministry of Health held an emergency hearing on whether to close the Oncology Institute following the conflict.

At the same time, the office ordered Sheba Hospital to prepare for the admission of patients from Wolfson, and meanwhile his men are delaying the decision.

The demonstrators came with signs reading "Institute closure - death sentence for cancer patients";

Wolfson CEO - Do not Kill Us "l;

"Angel, my life is more important than your ego games!".

Tamar Ratzbi, a nurse of a patient in the oncology department who also came to the demonstration, said: "Our expectation that the Ministry of Health will solve this problem is at the end of his hospital. I appreciate everyone's work, but we can not have to demonstrate in front of the hospital soon. .
