This has never happened before: the Raistinger Radom will be a breathtaking backdrop for three open-air concerts next weekend.

Admission is free.

Raisting - Three large-scale open-air concerts in front of the spectacular backdrop of the Raistinger Radom - with the shell of the industrial monument becoming a 30 by 17 meter screen: what can be experienced next weekend on the famous dome has never been seen before.

And that also called BR television onto the scene.

Last Thursday, organizer Christoph Drissl was a guest in the "Abendschau" with part of the "Weilheim Soul Orchestra" and enthusiastically promoted his heart project.

Raistinger Radom: "Soul Orchestra" guest at the BR

The "Soul Orchestra" played live in the studio before Drissl - also known as the conductor of the Raisting music association - and singer Iris Federau reported on their passion for music in general and the Radom concerts in particular.

They were on the air for ten minutes with presenter Annette Betz.

The performance can still be viewed in the BR media library.

Raistinger Radom: A journey through funk and soul history with the orchestra

When the Raistinger concert series opens this Friday, July 8, at 9 p.m., the "Weilheim Soul Orchestra" will have around 25 members: in a wide cast including several female singers, a fat wind section and strings, it'll go right through the funk & soul History, from Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder or Diana Ross to Bruno Mars and Adele.

On Saturday, July 9, at 9:15 p.m., there will be classical music with the Weilheim Chamber Orchestra (Mozart's "Kleine Nachtmusik", Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in D minor with soloist Moritz Defregger and Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf").

At the end of the day, the award-winning big band from the Weilheim High School will be swinging and jazzing on Sunday, July 10, at 6 p.m.
