Russia's delegate to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Alexander Shulgin, announced that Russia has sent to the organization a memorandum on Ukraine's readiness to carry out a new provocation using chemical weapons.
"We sent a note to the technical secretariat of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and told it about the plans prepared to organize a provocation in Nikolaev," Shulgin said in a statement to Russia 24 Today.
"Ukrainian nationalists intend to organize provocations in other places, especially in the city of Kharkov, and in total we have sent to the technical secretariat of the organization more than 20 notes," Shulgin added.
He pointed out that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons confirmed receiving this information and is currently distributing it quickly among the participating countries.
The head of the National Center of the Russian Defense Administration, General Mikhail Mezintsev, had announced earlier that the Ukrainian fighters were preparing to organize a provocation using chlorine in the Donetsk People's Republic in order to accuse Russia of carrying out indiscriminate strikes against chemically dangerous facilities.
