Russia on Wednesday (July 6th) introduced heavy prison sentences of up to seven years for calls to act against its security.
The law was passed by the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, which also increased penalties for espionage and cases of "
confidential collaboration with foreigners
".
The text is adopted by the deputies at a time when Moscow is repressing all the voices opposing its military offensive in Ukraine.
