A two-year-old boy becomes an orphan as a result of the act - the solidarity of the people is remarkable.
According to a media report, a two-year-old boy named Aiden was orphaned after the fatal shooting at a National Day parade in the United States.
The 37-year-old father and the child's two-year-old mother were among the seven fatalities of Monday's crime in Highland Park, the US broadcaster

reported on Tuesday.
The names of the parents were also on the list of fatalities, which was read out in a halting voice by coroner Jennifer Banek.
So they came from Highland Park.

A couple discovered the boy in the care of a strange woman who was obviously in shock.
The couple then took the child with them and brought it to the fire department.
Aiden was later handed over to his grandparents by the police.

Donations for Aiden were called for on the Internet.

page, more than 1.8 million dollars (around 1.75 million euros) came together by Wednesday morning (CET) - significantly more than the target amount of 500,000 dollars.
More than 34,000 people had donated at the time.
"At the age of two, Aiden was placed in the unimaginable situation of growing up without his parents," the statement said.
Now the boy has a long and difficult road ahead of him "to find stability and finally to master life as an orphan".
Robert Crimo: Alleged Highland Park perpetrator known to police
The alleged shooter Robert Crimo was arrested about ten hours after the fact after a chase with the police.
Lake County Prosecutor Eric Rinehart said on Tuesday evening (local time) that the 21-year-old would be charged with seven counts of murder.
Rinehart also believes that “dozens” of other charges could follow and at the same time underlined that he hopes to be able to send the shooter to prison for life.

Crimo was already known to the police before his crime: in 2019, the emergency services had to deploy twice because he first threatened to kill himself and a short time later “everyone” in his family.
In addition to a dagger and a sword, the police then secured 16 knives in his apartment.
The 21-year-old is said to have acquired the murder weapon legally.
