The Algerian President receives Mikdad, and the meeting revolves around strengthening bilateral relations and issues of common interest

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Dr. Faisal Miqdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, who conveyed to him the greetings of President Bashar al-Assad and his congratulations on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Algeria's independence and the restoration of its national sovereignty.

Dr. Miqdad also conveyed President al-Assad's satisfaction with the relations between the two brotherly countries, Syria and Algeria, the Algerian support for Syria in its war on terrorism, Algeria's standing by Syria in Arab and international forums, and the importance of strengthening relations between them for the interest and service of the two brotherly peoples and countries.

President Tebboune conveyed Minister Miqdad his warmest greetings to President al-Assad and his happiness with Syria's participation in the celebrations of Algeria's independence anniversary, and said: "He is proud of the relations between the two brotherly countries and of the achievements made by Syria in its war on terrorism, its steadfastness in the face of conspiracies and its preservation of its sovereignty."

Minister Miqdad presented to President Tebboune the political developments in the region and the world and the Syrian positions towards them, including President al-Assad's emphasis on the importance of mobilizing the efforts of all Arab countries to defend their just causes and their respect by the international community, stressing that Syria's main concern lies in unifying the efforts of Arab countries in order to preserve Just issues and banishing the specter of Western and colonial hegemony from the region.

President Tebboune affirmed his appreciation for Syria's support for the unity of the Arab position and Arab interests, and for the achievements made by Syria under the leadership of President al-Assad, stressing Algeria's position and its keenness that the next Arab summit in Algeria be a comprehensive and inclusive summit and that it be attended by all Arab countries without exception.

The Algerian president clarified the importance of unifying Arab positions in the face of all the external pressures that Arab countries are subjected to, and that Algeria's position was and will remain to defend the sovereignty and independence of all Arab countries and the return of normal Arab relations to the levels they were in of harmony and respect for the priorities that unite the people of this nation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Miqdad reiterated the importance of continuing to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries in all fields and at all levels, as well as continuing consultations between the two governments to address urgent issues bilaterally, regionally and internationally.

In a press statement to the Algerian media after the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed his satisfaction with meeting President Tebboune and the ideas presented at the meeting, pointing to the Algerian president's keenness to gather all Arab countries on the land of Algeria.

Minister Mikdad also expressed his happiness to participate alongside the Algerian brothers in the celebrations of the sixtieth anniversary of Algeria's independence, and the symbolism of this occasion that deserves all appreciation and respect.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Namir Al-Ghanim, Syrian Ambassador to Algeria, and Abdelaziz Khallaf, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Algerian Republic.
