The defendant Xiao Chunqiang (66), who came to Hong Kong with a two-way permit, revealed in a video interview that he was from Xingning, Meizhou, Guangdong, and his wife, Wang Fenggui, was from Hunan.

He met Wang in 1995, when Wang was working in a hair salon in Xingning that was run by a relative of the defendant, who was in charge of the salon for the relative.

But he stressed that the two people's quarrel was not for money, and he also gave money to the king.

In November 2019, the defendant came to Hong Kong again.

Wang instructed him to buy fruit, but when the defendant returned home after buying fruit, Wang rebuked him: "If you buy too much fruit, just buy some pork." He also accused him of being wasteful.

The two had quarreled over this matter, and during the quarrel, the defendant rebuked Wang and others for "snoaking" and said, "You share the same feeling, I am your husband, and I have nothing to do with you, and you share the same sigh people."

The night before the incident, on November 13, four of Wang's friends went to his unit to play sparrows.

The defendant and Wang did not play cards at the time, nor did they chat.

However, after the four left at 1:30 a.m. on the 14th, Wang called the defendant "X Street". The defendant asked what it meant, and Wang explained that it was "the dead seed".
