(CNN) --
Shame on you, Taika Waititi!
The director of "Thor: Love and Thunder" told Rolling Stone magazine that he forgot that the protagonist of his film, Natalie Portman, had been part of the "Star Wars" franchise.
According to Waititi, his initial conversation with Portman went something like this:
"Natalie said to me, 'what are you going to do next?'
And I was like, 'I'm trying to work on a Star Wars thing. Have you ever wanted to be in a Star Wars movie?'" she recalled.
"She said, 'I've already been to Star Wars movies.' I forgot about those."
The director laughed about it, according to the publication.
"Thor: Love and Thunder" does not rekindle the spark that ignited "Ragnarok"
For the record, Portman played the role of Padmé Amidala in the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy.
