Li Huiqiong pointed out that Xi's speech has a significant guiding role and far-reaching impact. He mentioned that "one country, two systems" must be adhered to for a long time, which has given Hong Kong a reassurance. Several lawmakers thanked Xi Jinping for his speech for pointing the way for Hong Kong, saying that they would solve Hong Kong's problems.

Legislative Council President Leung Kwan-yin said that the motion is urgent to the public, and the debate will be extended in accordance with the "Rules of Procedure", so that the debate will not be concluded until all the members and officials who intend to speak, and the members who move the motion have finished their defense.
