The total health services provided by the Medical Center of the Teachers Syndicate in Hama during the first half of this year amounted to about 25,000 services.
The director of the center, Osama Abdeen, said in a statement to SANA reporter that medical and treatment services for patients and auditors of members of the Teachers Syndicate and their families are provided at reduced wages through a number of medical clinics that are included in the center for various cardiological, internal, gynecological, dental, ophthalmic, ear, urinary and orthopedic lab services, in addition to laboratory services, x-rays, and echocardiography. In addition to the presence of a pharmacy for the Teachers Syndicate that provides various types of medicines with a discount of up to 50 percent of the value of the medicine.
And the head of the branch office of the Teachers Union in Hama, Hisham Hassan, indicated that the value of medical prescriptions has been raised to 30 thousand pounds per month, in addition to dispensing permanent prescriptions for chronic diseases and giving them prescriptions to dispense medicines, and they are renewed every 6 months through a specialized medical committee to monitor the cases of retired teachers, especially those who are sick. Deduction of a percentage ranging between 30 and 40 percent of the value of laboratory tests.
Hassan pointed out that the Teachers Syndicate is working to develop the work in the center, especially after opening a dental clinic as part of plans to expand its services.
A number of auditors praised the services provided and the symbolic prices of the center, especially in light of the high costs of treatment and medicines.
