Minister of Information Dr. Boutros Al-Hallaq discussed today with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Syria, Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, ways to enhance media cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, which was held at the ministry building, the two sides reviewed the memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries in the media field, stressing the importance of developing an executive program to activate the memoranda signed between the Syrian Arab News Agency “SANA” and the Bahrain News Agency on the one hand, and between the Public Authority for Radio and Television and the Bahrain Information Affairs Authority on the other. .
The two sides pointed out the importance of training and exchanging experiences in various media fields with the aim of improving media performance at all levels.
Minister Al-Hallaq spoke during the meeting about the negative effects and repercussions of the terrorist war that has been waged on Syria for more than 11 years and the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people in all sectors, including the media sector.
For his part, Ambassador Sayar affirmed his country's support for Syria's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and refusal to interfere in its internal affairs.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Minister of Information Ahmed Dawa and Director of Developmental Media Ammar Ghazali.
