The authorities said that some private land would have to be recovered, but did not disclose the scope of the resumption. The authorities will gazette consultation on the proposed project as soon as the third quarter of this year. It is expected that the main population of Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area Phase 2 can move in as scheduled by 2030.
The latest documents show that the second phase of the Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area will be developed from Fung Chung Village, Lau Fau Shan to the area around Tsing Chuen Wai, Lam Tei, Tuen Mun. The Drainage Services Department also mentioned that it is proposed to build the Hung Shui Bridge water purification facility on the land northwest of Ha Tsuen Road and the old Li Uk Village, covering an area of about 5.2 hectares, and the newly built sewage treatment plant can treat 90,000 cubic meters of water per day. , and reach the treatment level above the second level.
The authorities will dismantle the decommissioned San Wai Primary Sewage Treatment Works and reclaim part of the private land for the construction of new sewage treatment works.
The CERD pointed out that, according to the consultant's assessment, part of the private land must be repossessed for the proposed site formation and related infrastructure facilities, and the structures affecting the private land will be demolished, but it emphasized that the resumption of private land has been minimized.
It is expected that the proposed project will be gazetted for consultation as soon as the third quarter of this year. After the guild authorizes the resumption of the land, it will apply to the Legislative Council for funding to start the above-mentioned works, so as to win the second phase of the Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area development.
