"Significant risk for victims of crime":
The Northern District Attorney's Office filed a petition today (Wednesday) against the decision of the Parole Board to release Alon Kastiel, who was convicted of sexual offenses against four women, on parole.
According to the state, the release decision did not give sufficient weight to the position of the victims, to the significant risk that is expected to be caused as a result of his earlier release, and therefore the decision drastically deviates from the bounds of reasonableness.
"It has been clearly proven that his early release will pose a very significant risk to the victims of the crime, their mental health and their rehabilitation process. This is not an abstract claim or legal interpretation, but a proven and significant reality," said attorney Zvika Abramovich, petitioner.

In conclusion, he said: "In these circumstances, it is clear that the desired result would have required the rejection of Castiel's request for early release, while giving decisive weight to the position of the victims."
Recall that last week the parole board unanimously ordered Castiel's early release, which was sentenced to 57 months in prison.
His release was conditional on various conditions, including a ban on his entry into Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan and Givatayim, when his entry into the city of Jaffa will be for treatment purposes only at specified hours.
