She went on to point out that at present, all DSS school students are required to study Chinese, so all DSS schools offering both local and non-local courses must provide Chinese as their core language subject for students studying non-local courses; Students studying in non-local courses should take the civics subject of the DSE high school curriculum at the fourth stage.
Cai Ruolin also said that under the current school curriculum, students in local schools, including students studying non-local courses in DSS schools, have been educated since primary school in a learning atmosphere that fosters national values, positive values and attitudes, rather than DSS schools that offer fewer non-local courses will form "sister schools" with mainland schools and organize mutual visit activities.
