Gauting - After there had already been a major fire in mid-June in a cordoned-off storage area on Hangstrasse, in which tree grates and parts of scaffolding had been set alight, yesterday Tuesday around 10.40 p.m. the Gauting inspection department received another report from a resident that a large fire had again been lit in this area of Hangstraße at Grubmühler Feld.
The witness also stated that two people would be staying in the cordoned-off area of the property.
A short time later, the Gauting police found a 26-year-old man from Gauting and a 25-year-old man from Munich on the said property.
In addition, a fireplace was found in which a Euro pallet and metal scaffolding parts were being burned.
The Gautinger fire brigade was called in to extinguish the fire, which was able to extinguish the fire a short time later.
Gautinger, 26, admitted at the scene that he started the fire to grill meat.
His 25-year-old friend from Munich came along a little later to join in the grilling.
Since the surrounding area was wet, according to the fire brigade and police, there was no risk of the fire spreading.
Since a resident of the house was able to clearly identify the 26-year-old man as the perpetrator of the fire on June 20, he and his 25-year-old friend were temporarily arrested and then taken to the Gauting police station.
There, the two men, who were already known to the police, agreed to an alcohol test and to the voluntary submission of their DNA.
After the police measures were completed, they were released.
