The Italian designer offers sculptural new ways to wear the ponytail to stand out this fall and winter 2022.

To celebrate his tenth year in the world of haute couture, Giambattista Valli did things big.

Especially when it comes to hairstyles.

The models of this new fall-winter 2022 collection, called "l'Instant", walked the catwalk wearing majestic ponytails that set the tone for beauty trends for next season.

A double-sided hairstyle

At the front of the face, the hair looks demurely slicked back and lacquered at the roots in a classic style.

At the back, the complete, more daring look is revealed: a mid-high and voluminous ponytail, sometimes braided, sometimes lined, or even curved on the lengths.

Some are even tied at the end with a little black ribbon which adds an extra touch of elegance.

Hairstylist Cyndia Harvey's team of hairstylists used hair extensions to create these gigantic back-stretching manes, securing them with mini clips and artfully concealed rubber bands under pigtails.

On the make-up side, a graphic double eyeliner intensifies the models' gaze, while the rest of their beauty treatment remains relatively nude and minimalist.

Some wear black stickers on the movable eyelids that frame their eyes and complete their retro look.
