You can hardly ignore this entrepreneur: Trigema boss Wolfgang Grupp is a person who deliberately seeks the public.
He himself believes in expressing his opinion openly what many people think.
Burladingen - Trigema boss Wolfgang Grupp is more than an ordinary entrepreneur.
He often comments on debates that go far beyond his actual creative area, as
BW24
reports.
Grupp is considered a man of the old school and is also responsible for Germany as a production location at the federal level.
He is often a guest on talk shows and voices his opinion there.
Wolfgang Grupp also deliberately shows his private life in public.
Even those who don't know him personally could get the impression of knowing exactly who this man is and what makes him tick.
When Grupp celebrated his 80th birthday in April 2022, he received hundreds of congratulations.
He was happy about the fan mail, but he didn't expect so much attention.
"All in all, I was surprised how many there were," Grupp told the
Black Forest Bote
.
"I didn't know very many senders." He can only explain his popularity as follows: "Apparently I represent values that many people miss." Nevertheless, the excitement about his person is a mystery to him.
"I don't do anything special.
I have a little decency, respect for others or make it clear to an employee that I value them.
That's it.
Everything completely normal.”
Trigema boss Wolfgang Grupp: "Our world is so crazy - I appreciate the old values, I'm traditional"
He "of course" answered all of his well-wishers personally, explains Grupp.
“Whether by e-mail or letter.
Anyone who wrote me a letter received a thank you letter with a photo of my family from Dubai.
And when he wrote that his wife also recently turned 80, then I also went into that and congratulated his wife afterwards as well.”
In addition to decency and respect, it is also important for Grupp to accept responsibility.
As a registered merchant, he is personally liable for Trigema - which is a rarity these days.
His credo: "Cash in when things are going well and leave losses to the taxpayer in difficult times, that certainly shouldn't be the case!
Our world is so crazy.
I appreciate the old values, I'm traditional.
I'm responsible for everything, I guarantee jobs.
If I ask someone to work for me, I can't fire them after five months!
I demand that everyone does their job - I give them a secure job in return."
Wolfgang Grupp warns against megalomaniacal managers - and reflects on responsibility
Grupp's form of corporate management is unique in Germany.
He himself is not aware of any company with the legal form of a registered merchant, as he asserts: “I don’t know anyone – with the exception of handicraft businesses.” The decisions are automatically “more considered, more responsible and not exposed to greed and megalomania.” Only recently the Trigema boss warned of a mistake made by today's managers that could lead to a "disaster".
While Grupp takes a critical view of some types of manager, he says he appreciates "real high performers like Reinhold Würth or, in the past, a Lutz Merkle from Bosch." are produced, then I understand that people are discussing it.
But this is not envy, it is a question of justice!”
