Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on the West not to politicize the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and to stop intimidating the international community with a "chemical threat" from her country.
Russia Today website quoted Zakharova as saying during the 100th session of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, "Once again, the Euro-Atlantic allies, led by the United States, show a destructive position for the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, which is the further politicization of the activities of this multilateral organization," noting that Syria and Russia are subjected to frenzied attacks. Unsubstantiated accusations of violations of the Chemical Weapons Convention, as well as previous insinuations of the use of toxic chemicals or chemical weapons by Russia, Donetsk and Luhansk as part of the special military operation in Ukraine.
Zakharova added that all this is taking place against the background of receiving almost daily reliable information about chemical provocations and sabotage at chemical industry facilities prepared by the Ukrainian Nazis in the south and southeast of Ukraine, noting that it is impossible not to see the serious consequences of the situation when the Kyiv regime is tolerated in the most heinous commission. Crimes, whether by using chemical weapons or by dangerous chemicals, the leakage of which could lead to mass deaths and pollute the area for long periods.
