The solutions proposed by the city - cycle paths, development of schoolyards in the “oasis” course, installation of shadehouses and misters, etc. - have in reality only little effectiveness.
And many of the redevelopments it carries out even greatly aggravate the situation.
The development of cycle paths, which Anne Hidalgo has made an absolute priority, is certainly positive, but must be put into perspective: 80% of trips in Paris are made by public transport and on foot.
The priority would therefore be to first think in terms of the greatest number and to ensure that pedestrian routes no longer resemble obstacle courses, as they do today.
