An 80-year-old from the Holzkirchen area was seriously injured when a light aircraft crashed near Tuntenhausen (Rosenheim district).
Tuntenhausen/Holzkirchen - An 80-year-old from the Holzkirchen area was seriously injured in a light aircraft crash near Tuntenhausen (Rosenheim district) on Wednesday.
According to the police, the man as a co-pilot on board a yellow Zlin Aviation Savage fell shortly after 4 p.m. together with the pilot (60) from the Ebersberg district in a meadow next to a corn field.
Whether both wanted to make an emergency landing or crashed is still unclear.
The police received the first calls with information at around 4:20 p.m.
Both crew members were seriously injured and taken to hospital by rescue helicopter.

When the officials arrived at the scene of the accident, the 80-year-old co-pilot had already been freed from the badly damaged wreck.
The pilot was still trapped in the plane and had to be freed by firefighters.

Officials from the permanent criminal investigation service (KDD) carried out the first investigations into the cause of the accident on behalf of the criminal police.
They were assisted by an expert.
The investigations are continued by the specialist commissariat of the Rosenheim Kripo.
So far, the officials know that the two men with the light aircraft had probably previously taken off from the Antersberg airfield (Tuntenhausen municipality).
As part of their investigations into the cause of the crash, the Rosenheim detective is also asking for witnesses: Anyone who saw or heard anything yesterday Wednesday afternoon that could be related to the air accident or who saw a light aircraft in the air at the start or afterwards is asked to join the Rosenheim Criminal Police Inspectorate on 08031/2000.
First aiders at or near the scene of the accident are also asked to report to the police.
