A senior official of the Paris police headquarters, accused of having assaulted a cyclist in mid-March while riding an unmarked motorcycle, has been targeted since Monday by an investigation by the IGPN, the prosecution said Thursday, July 7. from Paris, confirming information from Mediapart.

Asked by AFP, the police headquarters was not able to respond immediately.

Ten days of ITT

The facts date back to March 16.

As he travels on a quay of the Seine in a lane reserved for buses and bicycles, the cyclist says that a motorcyclist, without any distinctive sign, comes up to him.

"

I told him

'

it's a lane for buses and bicycles, not for motorbikes

'", reports the cyclist in a complaint filed the same day at the police station of the 5th and 6th arrondissements, and consulted by AFP .

“, would have retorted the biker, before pushing him with his arm as they ride side by side.

The cyclist, part of the public service, then stumbles against the sidewalk and falls heavily.

His multiple dermabrasions and hematomas earned him ten days of ITT.

On getting up, he memorizes the motorcycle's license plate and learns, when he lodges a complaint, that it does indeed belong to a policeman from the police headquarters.

His complaint, "

for facts which he describes as violence by a person holding public authority

", is first sent to the Service for the judicial treatment of accidents (STJA), according to the Paris prosecutor's office.
