The Transport Department announced on Tuesday that new auxiliary devices will be installed at pedestrian crossings to remind pedestrians not to cross the road when the "red figure" is lit, in order to enhance pedestrian safety awareness.
The department pointed out that when the red light is on, the auxiliary device will simultaneously project the red light to the waiting position on the sidewalk, reminding pedestrians through the red light reflected from the ground or mobile phones, especially the pedestrians who are looking down at the mobile phone.
