The women of the Western Wall, the Reform Movement and the Conservative Movement wrote a letter to Prime Minister Yair Lapid today (Thursday).
The organizations demanded that he take immediate action to prevent violence and the violation of the rights of Western Wall women and liberal currents.
This, following the violent incidents against the women of the Western Wall last week, and ahead of US President Joe Biden's visit to Israel next week.
The letter, which was sent with the appointment of Lapid as prime minister, and on the fifth anniversary of the cancellation of the Western Wall outline, describes the severe violence at the site and "the deliberate inability of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation to treat and prevent violence there."
In addition, the heads of the organizations reminded Lapid of his previous statements on the subject.
"About a year ago, you mentioned that 'the Western Wall belongs to all streams of Judaism: Orthodox, Reform and Conservative.'

At the end of the letter, the leaders of the Reform, Conservative movement and the Western Wall women request that Prime Minister Lapid intervene urgently and take immediate steps to prevent violence and violation of their rights there.
Among other things, through "firm treatment by the police of violence at the site, stopping the degrading inspection at the entrance to the Western Wall, establishing clear rules regarding Israeli aid and providing access to the stones of the Western Wall at the site."
Earlier today, the Western Wall rabbi Shmuel Rabinovich issued an unusual statement in English to the foreign media, in which he condemned violence in general, and the Western Wall in particular.
In the announcement, Rabbi Rabinovich called on all parties to remove the controversies from the holy site and to preserve the Western Wall as a unifying place in the spirit of tradition and the heritage of Israel.
