Bad news for vacationers in Sinai:
As of today (Thursday), the Eilat municipality has banned parking along the entire southern coast of Eilat, including dirt parking, which until now was free.
Parking spaces enjoyed by vacationers in Sinai, where they would leave their car and walk to the border crossing with Egypt.
The parking ban applies from 24:00 to 7:00 in the morning, from the border crossing to the port of Eilat, including the dirt plazas in front of the coral reserve (Joseph's tent), near the water park and at the entrance to Wadi Shlomo.
Those who park during the forbidden hours may suffer fines and towing.
Passers-by at Sinai have access to a long-term parking lot, free of charge, in the northern area of the old airport at the entrance to the city.
