British Security Minister Damian Hinds resigned today, calling on Prime Minister Boris Johnson to step down.
And Reuters quoted Hinds as saying in his resignation letter to Johnson: "More important than any government or leader is the standards that we uphold...and because of what is happening I have come to the conclusion that the right thing for our country and our party is for Johnson to step down as the leader of the Conservative Party and as prime minister." .
Johnson had announced earlier that he would not give up his position despite a ministerial delegation calling for him to step down after a wave of resignations from his government amid a series of scandals.
