Coach Sherine Sheikh Ismail drew attention to her after she managed to lead the Aleppo women's basketball team to achieve first place in the third national Olympiad and achieved many successes, the last of which was being selected as an assistant coach for the Syrian women's team under 16 years, which achieved second place in the Asian Championship for the second level.

In a statement to SANA, Sheikh Ismail said: She started her training career in 2001 with the female rules of Al-Ittihad club Ahli Aleppo and underwent training courses at the local and external levels to reach the level that authorized her to reserve her position as an assistant coach within the technical staff of the Syrian women's team under sixteen years.

Sheikh Ismail succeeded in achieving second place with the team in the Asian Championship for the second level for teams under 16 years, which she considered a great achievement for the Syrian female basket in the first participation of its kind in such categories, despite the loss in the final with difficulty and a difference of three points with the Samoa team consisting of a group of players who possess High physical specifications in terms of strength and length.

Sheikh Ismail believes that the Syrian women's basketball has devoted its presence to the path of advancement and development, with its Asian participation as a basis on which to build through the inclusion of leagues and championships for age groups.

Sheikh Ismail pointed to the need for clubs to pay attention to the female basket, starting with the basic groups, and to find a formula for cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Education, as school sports are considered a mine for talents that need discovery, refinement and directed care, while reactivating the advantage of sports excellence.

It is noteworthy that Sheikh Ismail is one of the training cadres who had an imprint with the Syrian women's national under-16 team, which achieved second place in the Asian Championship for the second level, which recently concluded its competitions in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
