"Hartz and warm": The popular social documentary on RTLZWEI has a new location.
In Trier-West, the TV show accompanies the everyday life of the residents of Magnerichstrasse.
Trier is a popular tourist destination with a rich history.
But Germany's oldest city also has another side.
In any case, in Trier-West many people live on the edge of the subsistence level.
So it's no wonder that the social documentary "Hartz und Herzen" chose Trier-West as the new location.
Many residents here have long since given up hope of leaving the Hartz IV mill.

"Hartz and warm" in Trier: Nadine and Raimund want to get married - but they don't have the money
Despite state support, the financial situation of the "Hartz und cordial" participants from Trier-West is more than tense, as MANNHEIM24 reports.
Money worries are omnipresent here.
But welded together by their worries, the residents give each other support.
Raimund and Nadine live in Magnerichstraße – 4-year-old Elias also belongs to the small family.
The couple are unemployed.
With the child benefit, care allowance and Hartz IV, they have around 1400 euros a month at their disposal.
The young family can't make big leaps with this, although Raimund and Nadine finally want to say YES to each other after four years of relationship.
For the two Hartz IV recipients, however, the project soon turned out to be an organizational and financial challenge.

The new protagonists of "Hartz und Herzen" from Trier also include Nadine's parents, who live just one floor above their daughter.
Hannelore and Ralf have been dependent on the state for over 30 years.
They have long since become accustomed to living on the poverty line.
Money was never important to her.
Rather, they placed value on family cohesion - and so there is always something going on with them.
Not only their children Nadine and Steven like to come by, Hannelore and Ralf are also an important contact point for many neighbors.
Ralf, the head of the family, is particularly happy about the team spirit: he checks on his grandson almost every day.

36-year-old Sush lives just a few kilometers from Hannelore and Ralf's multi-generational house.
Since the former taxi driver lost his driver's license because of drugs at the wheel, he is also dependent on Hartz IV.
He has now been unemployed for three years and receives 446 euros in Hartz IV per month.
Unemployment doesn't just affect him financially.
"My life was taken from me.
It's stupid if you just sit at home all week," reveals the "Hartz and warmly" protagonist in the first episode from Trier-West.
Sush has now been clean for two years.
However, there is still a long way to go before he gets his driver's license again.
Another "Hartz und cordial" actor from Mannheim has had to overcome his drug addiction.
"Hartz and warm": Valeska lost her children to the youth welfare office
Sush's good friend Valeska can also be seen in the social documentary from Trier and has one thing in common with other "Hartz und Herzen" actresses: their children live in a youth welfare office.
Cindy, the protagonist of “Hartz und Herzen” from Rostock, shares a similar fate – she had to hand her daughters over to the authorities.
The 30-year-old has been unemployed since her daughter was born nine years ago.
A few hundred meters from Valeska's cozy apartment, Bernd and roommate Nina share a small house.
Bernd calls himself an alcoholic and accumulates a lot of debt due to his addiction.
Sascha and his husband Mike suffer from financial worries - the "Hartz und Herzen" actors are desperately trying to gain a foothold in the world of work.
