Wheat harvest operations are nearing their end in the lands under the supervision of the General Authority for the Management and Development of Al-Ghab for the current season.
The Director of Plant Wealth in the Authority, Engineer Wafiq Zarouf, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the total area harvested from wheat reached 52,27 hectares out of the total cultivated area this season, which amounted to 52,189 hectares, indicating that the quantities marketed to the grain receiving centers and the seed multiplication branch exceeded 100 thousand tons until Yesterday, Wednesday.
Zarouf pointed out that the harvesting and marketing of the wheat crop to the Syrian grain purchasing centers is progressing at a good pace due to the facilities provided to farmers, especially in terms of securing fuel for the need for harvesters, calling on farmers to expedite the marketing of production to purchasing centers and not to burn the remnants of the harvest until the harvest operations are completed completely.
The plan of the General Authority for the Management and Development of the Forest included planting 51,313 hectares of wheat during the current season.
